Assistant Dean of Students, Student Rights and Responsibilities

Brian Beccue is the Assistant Dean of Students, Student Rights and Responsibilities and has worked at SIU since 2015.  Brian graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Science degree in Student Affairs and Higher Education from Indiana State University. Brian supervises Students Rights and Responsibilities and Veterans’ Services.

Assistant Dean of Students, First Saluki Center

Dr. Lanel Love (Ph.D.) is the Assistant Dean of Students, the First Saluki Center, and began her career at SIU in 1996 with the Project Upward Bound Program. Dr. Love is a first-generation college graduate receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Technical Careers, her Master’s degree in Workforce Education and Development, and her Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership with a specialization in Higher Education. Dr. Love supervises The First Saluki Center.

Coordinator, Veterans' Services

Lt. Col. Paul Copeland, USAF, Retired is Coordinator of Veterans Services and has worked for SIU Since 2011. Paul Graduated from SIU Carbondale with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science and was commissioned through Air Force ROTC Detachment 205. He completed a Master of  Business Administration from the University of Wyoming in 1989. He is the GI Bill® School Certifying Official for the University, as well as a resource for veterans and military family  members.

Lori Crenshaw Bryant

Director, Students' Legal Assistance

Lori Crenshaw Bryant (J.D.) is the Director of the Students’ Legal Assistance Office (SLA), which provides legal advice, counseling and/or representation to the students at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. She received her Juris Doctorate from Southern Illinois University, School of Law. Before joining the SLA staff, she was the Coordinator of the Domestic Violence Clinic at SIU School of Law.
